Human Services organizations and their professionals are uniquely placed in a position of meeting human needs that commonly focus on individuals and families with histories of childhood neglect, homelessness, drug addiction, mental illness, sexual abuse, frequent incarceration and other types of trauma-inducing experiences. In addition, these organizations work on prevention, recognition of problems, and solutions to barriers.
As our society continues to evolve under the enormous stressors around physical and mental health, family and community stability, and economic self-sufficiency; the need for human service professionals and organizations has become an essential part of helping people navigate through crisis or chronic situations. However, as with other long-standing institutions in American society, it’s possible to take for granted the relevance, effectiveness, and the importance of the sustainability of Human Service organizations and Human Service professionals.
Helping Hands Training and Consulting Services goal is to empower organizations' leadership, employees, volunteers and funders. We accomplish this goal by offering training and consulting services that can include evaluating and possibly modifying products and services when beneficial. Our methods are based on an understanding of trauma and the vulnerabilities of trauma survivors, ensuring that clients are supported while avoiding re-traumatization.
