Ethics in Human Services: An In-depth-Look at Culturally Responsive Practices- As human services practitioners, we service a diverse population. This discussion addresses the importance of providing quality care in manners that are fair, non-discriminatory, and sensitive towards one’s cultural needs
Many of the individuals and families seeking assistance from human service organizations have histories of childhood neglect, homelessness, drug addiction, mental illness, sexual abuse, frequent incarceration and other types of trauma-inducing experiences. Trauma-Informed organizations are responsible for becoming well-informed about the concept of trauma and its influence on the positive or negative outcomes of the adults, children and families who participate in direct services.
The goal of this training is to support leadership/staff in gaining a better understanding of the concept of trauma and how its prevalence among clients has a profound effect on outcomes. This training offers an in-depth understanding of trauma via videos, activities, written media and lecture.
